Challenges for innovators and policy makers to roll out smart innovations
Jorge Nuñez-Ferrer, Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS)
Shifting cities to a low carbon future presents major technological, economic and social challenges for city authorities, urban planners and project developers alike. The framework conditions need to be created to facilitate the adoption of new solutions and promote innovation. This requires a flexible but also stable positive policy environment. These challenges can be addressed by reforming and adjusting policies at local, national, regional and European level. The webinar presented the key difficulties EU-funded projects face when rolling our smart innovations and what are the opportunities for policy makers to solve these problems.
