Designing smart and efficient energy policies with citizens at local level (Workshop at EUSEW)
As part of this year's EUSEW, the workshop "Designing smart and efficient energy policies with citizens at local level" is taking place on 21 June.
Most cities have one or several local programs to help inhabitants and companies save energy. However, these programs often appears technical, red-tape-laden, time consuming with a high degree of uncertainty to reach actual retrofitting and ultimately energy (and money) savings. This session proposes to present diverse local and European projects using new methods to face the difficulties that cities have in designing local energy retrofitting services. New participatory methods are used to make sure programs are in line with people's actual needs and fight difficulties to involve stakeholders and consumers through traditional participatory methods.
The focus will be set on the co-creation of these policies and the session will also therefore touch upon governance questions. The afternoon will be moderated by Greenovate Europe, the network of expert in sustainability policies and technologies.
